A legal luminary and a community leader in Nsit Atai Local Government Area, Barr. Isidore Ene Bassey, has felicitated Hon. Emem Ibanga on her 100 days in office as the Transition Committee Chairman of Nsit Atai Local Government Area.Barr. Bassey applauded Emem Ibanga for what he called superlative performance. Isidore said he would ever remain grateful to the Chairman for facilitating the demarcation between his village, Ndon Ikot Itie Udung, Ikot Edong and Ekpene Ukim in Uruan LGA that were in a communal war even before he was born.Barr. Isidore said the ongoing road grading embarked upon by the administration of Emem Ibanga was another giant stride that had shown her commitment to serving the people of Nsit Atai.According to him, good roads are catalyst to inter community trading, while also helping in tackling security problems, saying the roads being graded in some communities would allow police patrol teams to traverse the communities.In his word, ” I will never forget Emem Ibanga for returning peace to Ndon Ikot Itie Udung, Ikot Edong and Ekpene Ukim. These villages have lost able bodied young men to war even before I was born, but all that is going to be history now. “Another very important achievement within her first 100 days in office is this road grading that is ongoing. With good roads, there will be free movement and inter community trading will boom. Secondly, police patrol vehicles will be able to traverse through the communities and prevent crimes”, Isidore stated.He described Hon. Emem Ibanga as an epitome of development, having done so much to the people, ranging from provision of boreholes, building of market, new office complex, donation of health equipment, among others.Barr. Isidore therefore, appealed to indigenes of Nsit Atai to shun unnecessary division and cooperatr with Emem Ibanga for more dividends of democracy.He also advised Emem Ibanga to close her ears from the rants of her detractors and focus on her good leadership style to give more succour to the people of Nsit Atai. ” Having broken the jinx to become the first female Chairman and a very intelligent one at that, those who felt that women education should only and always end in the kitchen are not comfortable. That’s why they don’t want to recognize the fact that Emem is doing well”, Isidore revealed.Barr. Isidore also commended Governor Umo Eno for giving the local government the needed energy to perform, in addition to projects spread across the state.
