AKSG pledges more transparency in AK-CARES Phase 2 Programme

The Akwa Ibom State government has restated commitment to ensuring transparency and accountability in the implementation of programmes and projects of AK- CARES phase two. The Chairman, AK-CARES steering committee and Commissioner for Economic Development, Mr Emem Bob stated this in Uyo, while declaring open, a-one day stakeholders sensitization workshop for Nano, Micro and Small Enterprises (NMSEs) in Uyo Senatorial district.Mr Bob explained that the enlightenment and sensitization programme was organized as part of measures to build up capacities in order to ensure maximum output from the registered NMSEs and also remove any impediment or road block which would have hindered the expected beneficiaries from accessing the grant.While noting that the present administration of Governor Eno encourages transparency, Mr Bob while reacting to insinuations making the rounds in some quarters, reiterated the Governor’s dedication and commitment to serving the people of Akwa Ibom State efficiently.He however, disclosed that a similar workshop has also been scheduled for entrepreneurial stakeholders in Ikot Ekpene and Eket Senatorial districts. Earlier, the coordinator of the Result Area 3.2 and Commissioner, Ministry of Trade and and Investment, Dr John Etim in his welcome remarks appreciated Governor Eno for his interest in entrepreneurial development in the state. While disclosing that participants at the workshop were invited from several clusters and associations like National Association of small scale industrialists, National Association of women entrepreneurs, amongst others, Dr Etim admonished participants to take full knowledge of the workshop which he described as educating and expository.Meanwhile, Entrepreneurs and participants at the event including Chairman, Center for Human Right and Accountability Network, Otuekong Franklyn Isong, have commended Governor Umo Eno for his interest in entrepreneurial development in the State.
