In furtherance of the vision to develop rural areas in line with the ARISE Agenda of Pastor Umo Eno, the Chairman of Uyo Capital City Development Authority (UCCDA), Rt Hon Anietie Eka, has inspected the graded master plan roads that connect outer loop along Nwaniba and Ifa Atai Etoi, in Uyo Local Government Area.Addressing youths at the project site yesterday, the UCCDA Executive Chairman said he was working in line with the vision of the governor to develop the rural areas, open up access roads to bring ease to farmers and development to the areas.He condemned the encroachment into government land and called on the youths of the area and the general public to clear with UCCDA and the Ministry of Lands before selling or buying any property to avoid demolition in due course. He frowned at those building on government right of way and ordered them to be removed as marked by UCCDA.Eka called on the youths not to fight government initiatives, but to cooperate with in developing the rural areas, emphasising that the government has lofty plans that will be of great benefits to the people.Earlier, the UCCDA boss went to register his condolences over the demise of the late Mr Effiong Edem who he said was his friend and ally and a strong PDP stalwart.. He described his death as sad and tragic, praying that the good Lord would console his family over the irreplaceable loss. Responding, the son of the deceased, Mr Moses Effiong, thanked Rt Hon Eka, for finding time in spite of his tight schedule to come and stand by them in their grief. He eulogies his father and prayed his soul to rest in peace.
