Wife of the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pst Patience Umo Eno, has said that her pet-project, Golden Initiative for All (GIFA), was borne out of share compassionate yearnings, and as such, would address specific needs of all members of families in the state. Pst Patience Eno said this on the occasion of the official launch of the project and her 57th birthday celebration which held on Tuesday, at Ibom Hall, Uyo. The Wife of the Governor explained that the launch of the pet-project which is her brainchild, was carefully planned to coincide with her birthday to leverage on her humanitarian activities of improving the livelihood of the poor and vulnerable in the society. “ I engage in humanitarian activities to improve the livelihood of the poor and vulnerable in the society. This is not only ideal and exemplary, but also a global phenomenon”.Pst Patience Eno noted that it had become imperative in the contemporary times for organisations in both developed and developing economies to pay keen attention to the well-being of families and the vulnerable groups, added that GIFA was even birthed to engender healthy, educated, successful and sustainable families where no one is disadvantaged by circumstances. “ In contemporary times, building the well-being of families and vulnerable groups in society has become the primary vocation of most developed and developing economies. In this light, GIFA is a brainchild of mine. “GIFA ensures a society with healthy, educated, successful and sustainable families devoid of vulnerabilities through the deployment of multi-smart, multi-prong empowerment and support scheme geared towards enhancing the well-being of families”. The Wife of the Governor who likened GIFA to the ARISE Agenda of Pst Umo Eno which encompasses development that is holistic, said her pet-project came to make it easier and accessible to every Akwa Ibom person. She further explained the eight thematic areas of her pet-project which include; Maternal and Child Healthcare, Enhancing Literacy, Improving Environmental Health, Women Empowerment, Fight against Diseases, Care for the Elderly, Care for Persons with Disabilities and Gender-based Violence Elimination. According to the Wife of the Governor, each of these thematic areas had been further broken down into some implementable policy thrusts and therefore, the remaining months of this year beginning from March would have wide range of activities all geared towards addressing the needs of the poor and vulnerable families in Akwa Ibom. Pst Patience Eno therefore, called on citizens, residents in the state, corporate organisations and individuals to join hands in rebuilding families for the overall well-being of the society.In a goodwill message, the Wife of the Lagos State Governor, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwu-olu described Pst Patience Eno as a women who is passionate about lifting the poor and vulnerable in the society. She said her pet -project which clearly focuses on the poor and vulnerable was an unquestionable testimonial of Pst Patience Eno’s determination to truly rebuild families through giving them better life.There were other goodwill messages from the Wife of the Ogun State Governor, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, Engr. Uwem Okoko of HENSEK Integrated Construction Company, among other dignitaries.The twin event featured the cutting of a birthday cake and presentation of sewing machines, dryers, and other items to some women drawn from the 31 local government areas of the state.Present at the event include; the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pst Umo Eno, Wife of the immediate past Governor of Akwa Ibom, Dr. Martha Udom Emmanuel, the former Deputy Governor, Mr. Moses Ekpo, the State Chief Judge, Justice Ekaette Obot, the Akwa Ibom House of Assembly Speaker, Rt.
