Iwobi basks in excitement ahead of Super Eagles friendlies

Super Eagles midfielder Alexander Iwobi has been seen in a video basking in euphoria as he heads to the national team’s camp ahead of their upcoming friendlies.The Super Eagles will play international friendlies against Ghana’s Black Stars and Mali’s Eagles on March 22 and 26, respectively, in Morocco.Iwobi is among the early birds in camp alonfg Moses Simon, Stanley Nwabali, Jamilu Collins, and Bruno Onyemaechi.Other players in camp are Cyriel Dessers, Nathan Tella, Calvin Bassey, Semi Ajayi and Fisayo Dele -Bashiru.In a video, Iwobi could be heard singing in excitement ahead of his trip to Morocco for national team duty.Recall Iwobi was the subject of criticisms and bully during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with Super Eagles supporters displeased with his performance at the tournament.The Fulham midfielder, after the tournament in Cote D’Ivoire, reportedly as a result of the deluge of cyberbullying targeted at him took down all his images and videos on his Instagram account.The midfielder, however, came back on social media a few days later and has been in superb form for his clubside as they continue their quest for an European place finish in the English Premier League table.This will be the first time the Super Eagles will reunite after their silver-medal finish at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).Friendlies: Simon, Nwabali, eight others arrive Super Eagles’ camp in MoroccoTen Super Eagles players have arrived camp in Morocco ahead of the friendlies against Ghana and Mali.The early arrivals in camp include Alex Iwobi, Moses Simon, Stanley Nwabali, Jamilu Collins, and Bruno Onyemaechi.Other players in camp are Cyriel Dessers, Nathan Tella, Calvin Bassey, Semi Ajayi and Fisayo Dele -Bashiru.More players are expected in camp today (Tuesday).The players are billed to have their first training session at 4:30pm local time.The Super Eagles will take on Ghana at the Grand de Stade Marrakech, Morocco on Friday, March 22.The three-time African champions will face Mali four days later at the same venue.This will be the first time the Super Eagles will reunite after their silver-medal finish at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
